I always try and enter the SRS series, having come 4th (tied 3rd) in both 2012 and 2013 to Jack Embling in nitro buggy and winning truggy twice many years earlier.

This year I got an outstanding late deal on a Kyosho ST-RR Evo truggy, so I chose to try my hand at truggy again after a long period having never driven one, but would go in to the series with no practice with the truck.

Round 1 - Remote World MCC - Slough

The meeting started out with a damp looking track, but looks can be deceptive and the track was actually very grippy with very little clinging mud.

I started Q1 with the setup suggested by Tommy Chung, as he'd raced his truggy in some of the national series the year before, and the truck was very good straight away, via for top spot with Jon Hazelwood.

Unfortunately a mistake on my part having not loctited the servo horn screw would lead to a dnf in Q1.

With the screw firmly in place for Q2, I would have a clean runs in both Q2 and Q3 taking 2nd in round for both and line up P2 for the main final.

In prep for the main final, I noticed a small binding in the rear gearbox that I wasn't happy with and wanted to fix for the 20 minute final. It took a little to long though as they decided to run the truggy final first and I missed the first 8 minutes and could only come away with 6th.

    Round 2 - KMRC - Kent

The track looked a bit patchy during drivers briefing ad there had been overnight rain, but this quickly dried once the sun came out.

It was an ounce that due to low entries for Round 3, that

    Here's the weekend report:

Round 9 and 10 of the SWICC series was held at Dorset Model Car Racing Club on 12th September. The club always puts on a good event for the travelling drivers and again this year they didn’t disappoint. With 2 new rolls of Prima felt carpet, new barriers and track markings the 22mx14m was looking good.

12 heats of Gt12, Lmp, Touring cars, Scale and Mini meant a busy day for all. With most of the Championships already decided and won by the DMCRC drivers there was only a few that could still go the distance.

In LMP new champion Lesro Models driver Stuart Parnell was ready with his nvision powered Kyosho Plazma RA for the challenge from the visiting drivers of Newbury, Yeovil, Weymouth and Chichester clubs. Meaning a larger than normal entry to LMP.

Round 1 Stuart lead the field with 37 in 365.69 and a best lap of 9.50, next closest was Lee Ellis with 35 in 361.97 best lap of 9.80 and Scott Dabinett with 34 in 363.44 best l

South West Regionals report by Chris Rowcliffe

Our South West Regionals series started with the 4wd at Mendip R/C Raceway.  The numbers were good and so was the weather.  I took the TQ and then followed it up with a win in all 3 legs to secure round 1.  We moved onto to Torquay which was an indoor venue for the first round of the 2wd series.  Unfortunately things didn’t go so well for me there and I ended up with 4th.  So with the 2wd, I had some work to do.

The second round of the 4wd took us to Tiverton.  We had really good numbers upwards of 50 drivers which is great for our region.  I took the overall TQ but unfortunately had some bad luck in the finals meaning I finished 2nd.  This did mean that with a series round to spare, I had already won the 4wd regional series.  The second round of the 2wd series was to be held at Tiverton too.  This day went much better for me than Torquay and I took the TQ and overall win.

So with a round to go in each class, the 4wd was don
